SUNUM ÖZETİ

Retrokaval ureterden kaynaklanan hidronefroz çocukluk çağında nadir görülen bir durumdur. Biz burada hidronefroza sebep olan bir retrokaval ureter olgusunu rapor ediyoruz. 12 yaşında bir erkek çocuk üriner enfeksiyon ile başvurdu. Karın ultrasonografisinde sağ böbrekte hidronefroz ve üst ureterde dilatasyon saptandı. Dinamik böbrek sintigrafisi obstruksiyonu düşündürdü. İntravenöz ürografi ve retrogad pyelografide tipik S şeklinde retrokaval ureter görüntüsü vardı. Hastaya ureteroureterostomi yapıldı. Hastanın takiplerinde hidronefroz ve böbrek fonksiyonlarında düzelme olduğu görüldü. Hidronefroz sebebi olarak retrokaval ureter nadir bir hastalıktır ve cerrahi olarak düzeltilir.

Hydronephrosis resulting from retrocaval ureter is a rare condition in childhood. We report a case of retrocaval ureter as a cause of hydronephrosis. A 12-year-old boy presented with the urinary tract infection. Ultrasound of the abdomen showed hydronephrosis of right kidney with dilatation of the upper ureter. Renal dynamic scan revealed a delayed clearance with obstructive pattern. Intravenous urography and retrograde pyelography showed the typical S-shape of a retrocaval ureter. Ureteroureterostomy was performed. Follow-up studies showed improvement in hydronephrosis and renal function. We conclude that retrocaval ureter as a cause of hydronephrosis is a rare disorder and surgical correction is usually effective.
